Give us the details

What are we detailing?

How it works

Three steps, and you never leave the house.

Most people book in under two minutes. The hard part is deciding whether you want the seats shampooed.

STEP 01

Tell us the car

Vehicle size and package. We check every available detailer near you and show the best-value price we can find — the real number, not a range that changes when someone shows up.

STEP 02

Pick your window

Choose a day and a two-hour arrival window. A small deposit holds the slot; the detailer gets the job details and your address.

STEP 03

They come to you

Home, office, apartment lot — wherever the car sits. They can arrive fully self-contained with their own water and power, or use yours if you'd rather keep the cost down. You pay the balance when you're happy with it.

Who shows up

We check the detailer so you don't have to.

Anyone can buy a pressure washer and call themselves a detailer. Everyone on WAXD clears the same checks before they take a single job — and keeps clearing them afterwards.

Background check

Run through a screening provider before the first job, because they’re coming to your home and working alone next to it.

Work reviewed first

We look at photos of recent jobs before anyone is approved. Quoting Luxury means showing real paint correction under proper lighting, not a wet car in the shade.

Rated every job

Customers rate the work afterwards, and those ratings decide who gets shown next time. It isn’t a one-off check at signup.

Removed if they slip

Detailers who stop meeting the standard stop receiving bookings. We remove anyone we wouldn’t send to our own driveway.

Questions

The things people ask before booking.

Is the price I see the price I pay?

Yes, for the package you picked. That figure is the actual rate charged by the detailer we matched you with, not an estimate or an average. If your car needs something beyond that package — heavy pet hair, mold, or paint damage that needs correction — the detailer will tell you the cost before starting, and you can say no.

Who decides the price?

The detailers do. Each one sets their own rates, and we search everyone who covers your ZIP, prices your package, and is free on your date. You get shown the best combination of price and rating we can find — so you're not paying a padded platform rate, and you're not just getting whoever is cheapest.

Do you need my water or electricity?

Not unless you want us to use it. Detailers can arrive fully self-contained with their own water tank and power — all they need is a legal place to park next to your car and a bit of room to work. That said, if you're happy to let them use your spigot and an outlet, there are often cheaper options available, so we'll ask what you'd prefer when you book.

What is the deposit for?

It holds your slot and is WAXD's fee for matching you with a detailer and handling the booking. The rest of the price goes directly to the detailer when the job is done.

What if the detailer doesn't show up?

Your deposit is refunded in full and we'll rebook you with someone else at the same price. Tell us within 24 hours of the missed window.

What if something gets damaged?

Detailers on WAXD are independent businesses and each one is responsible for their own work, including any damage they cause. Report it to us within 48 hours: we’ll put you in touch with the detailer, follow it up, and stop offering them bookings while it’s open. Screening reduces the odds of this happening — it isn’t a guarantee, and any claim is ultimately between you and the detailer. See our terms.

Can you detail at an apartment complex?

Usually yes, but some complexes prohibit washing in the lot. Check your lease or office first — if it's not allowed, a nearby street or a relative's driveway works fine.

How long does it actually take?

Basic runs about 90 minutes, Premium about four hours, Luxury closer to six or seven. You don't need to be present the whole time, just there to hand over keys and pay at the end.
