Terms of Service

Last updated July 30, 2026

These terms govern your use of the WAXD website and booking service. By requesting a booking you agree to them.

What WAXD is — and is not

WAXD is a booking platform. We introduce customers to independent mobile detailers and handle the booking. We do not perform detailing services, and we do not employ, supervise, direct or control the detailers who do.

Each detailer is an independent business, solely responsible for:

Screening, and what it does not mean

Before approving a detailer, WAXD carries out limited screening. This currently means a background check through a third-party screening provider, a review of samples of their recent work, and ongoing review of customer ratings once they are active. We may remove a detailer from the platform at any time.

Screening is a filter, not a guarantee. It reduces risk; it does not eliminate it. In particular:

Ratings and descriptions shown about a detailer come from that detailer or from other customers. Engaging a detailer remains your decision.

Pricing

Prices shown are based on the vehicle size and package you select. The quoted price is what you pay for that package. If your vehicle needs work beyond the selected package — for example heavy pet hair, mould, biohazard cleanup, or paint damage requiring correction — the detailer will quote that cost to you before starting, and you may decline.

Deposits and payment

Where a deposit is taken, it is WAXD's booking fee and covers matching you with a detailer and administering the booking. The remaining balance is paid directly to your detailer once the work is complete; WAXD does not hold or disburse that balance.

Cancellation

Your responsibilities

Damage, loss and claims

Any claim for loss, damage or injury is between you and the detailer. The detailer is solely liable for it. WAXD is not a party to that claim, does not insure against it, does not adjudicate it and is not responsible for its outcome.

Report any damage to us within 48 hours. We will pass on the detailer's contact details, follow the matter up, and may stop offering them bookings while it is open. Doing so is part of how we keep the platform's standards up — it is not an admission of liability by WAXD, an assumption of the claim, or a promise of any particular remedy.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Release

To the maximum extent permitted by law, you release WAXD, and its officers and agents, from claims, demands, damages and liabilities of every kind arising out of or connected with a detailer, their conduct, or the services they perform.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify WAXD against claims, losses and reasonable legal costs arising from your use of the service, your breach of these terms, or your dealings with a detailer.

Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use of the service after an update means you accept the revised terms.

Placeholder notice. This document is a working draft written to cover the basics while WAXD launches. It is not legal advice and has not been reviewed by an attorney. Two things are worth a lawyer's eye in particular. First, liability disclaimers, releases and indemnities are the clauses courts scrutinise most closely, and their enforceability varies by state. Second, WAXD advertises that it screens detailers — once you advertise a safety measure, you can be held to actually performing it, so the screening described here needs to match what you really do on every single detailer. Have a lawyer review this before you take real bookings.
